Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account: your email address, and, if you add them, your name, phone number and language.
• Your units: what you enter about your truck, trailer or cart, such as type, size, food, permits and insurance status, make, model, year, owner name, VIN, license plate, insurance policy number, health department license number and dates, and photos. VIN, plate, policy and license numbers are never shown publicly or in the cards you share.
• Plans: the goal and answers you give to create or update a business plan, and the plan we generate.
• Activity: listings you save and how you track them, requests you send to organizers (with your message and contact details), problems you report and opportunities you suggest.
• Searches: the area, food type and radius you search; live web searches you run.
• Technical: cookies that keep you signed in and remember your language, and basic logs (such as IP address and browser) kept by our hosting provider for security.
• Guests: you can use parts of the service without an account; we create an anonymous session to save your plan until you add an email.

How we use it

• To run the service: sign you in, save your plans, units and listings, and show you opportunities.
• To pass your request to an organizer, when you ask us to (see Sharing).
• To send emails you need: sign-in codes, request receipts and status updates. News and tips only if you turn that on.
• To keep the service safe and fair: prevent abuse (including a CAPTCHA), enforce usage limits and control costs.
• To improve listings: reports and suggestions help us fix or add opportunities.

Sharing

We share personal information only as described here:

• With an organizer, when you send a request: your name, email, phone, your message and the unit details you chose to include.
• With organizers, only if you turn on "Show my profile to organizers": your name, food type and units, never VIN, plates, policy or license numbers.
• With service providers that run the app for us, under their own privacy terms: Supabase (database, sign-in and file storage), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email delivery), Anthropic (the AI that writes plans and searches the public web; we send it your plan answers or your search area and food type, not your email or account details) and Cloudflare (CAPTCHA).
• When the law requires it, or to protect people, the service or our rights.

Listings from the public web

Some listings are found by searching the public web. We store a short summary in our own words, the source link and the dates we found and checked it. We do not log into private groups or copy private posts. If a listing about you or your event is wrong, report it or email us and we will fix or remove it.

Your choices and rights

• Edit your profile, units and consents anytime in My Business.
• Download a copy of your data from My Business.
• Delete your account from My Business. It removes your profile, units and photos, plans, saved listings, requests, reports and suggestions. Usage records we keep for cost control stay without your identity.
• Ask us anything about your data at im@foodwayfinder.com. Depending on your state, you may have additional rights; we honor valid requests.

Retention and security

We keep your information while your account exists and delete it when you delete the account. Unit photos are private and shown only to you through short-lived links. Access to our database is protected by row-level security so one user can never read another user's data. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.

Children

FoodWay Finder is for adults running or starting a food business. It is not directed to children under 13, and you must be 18 or older to create an account.
